Pinellas Cast Stone has been providing builders and home owners with high quality concrete construction items for over 42 years.
Our Concrete balusters, top rail and wall caps have been shipped from Texas to New Jersey.

In order to keep up with the ever growing construction field we have added expanded polystyrene to our product line.

Many builders are discovering the benefits of using EPS Foam Products along with our concrete products.
Foam products are used for the architectural enhancement of a building. It is not designed for structural use or to be placed in high traffic areas of the home.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION

We use a high quality EPS foam (Expanded Polystyrene) in a standard 1 pound per cubic foot density.

Foam Columns may be purchased in one of several ways

RAW FOAM - A lot of contractors like this economical way to dress up their houses. Raw foam comes to you straight off the hotwire machine. Lightweight and easy to install and the base coat and stucco finish are applied at the job site.

COATED FOAM - We hopper three coats of a polymar stucco (slightly course) finish. This coating may be painted with latex masonary paint after completely drying.
DESCRIPTION OF OUR COATING MIXTURE: We use Styrocrete/by Marbelite, a high strength polymer cement mix designed to be used with the Styrocrete Polymer Additive as a coating over architectural Stryrofoam trim moldings, caps etc. The additive is a premium quality bonding resin and we also add an additonal bonding additive (MarFlex Elastomeric) which is a specially formulated polymer blend that produces a good range of elongation and flexibility.

COSTS - Costs are determined by the size of the molding or caps needed. We will be happy to give you a quote for your job.

Foam columns can be produced to suit your needs.
We produce both round and fluted columns.
The columns may be produced solid, or in halves.
The half columns may be made with a cut out to allow the two half columns to surround a metal or wood support post you would like to hide ,while adding an elegant look to your home, a room, pool or deck area.
Half columns are often attached along a flat wall, with a large trim placed across the tops to add a special atmosphere to the room.

If you are interested in using half columns to cover an existing support post, the minimum size(diameter) column you will need will be determined by the size of the post you are covering. For Example a 4"x4" post will measure 6" across at the corners allow at least 1" beyond opposite corners (6"+1"+1"= 8"). So the smallest round column you would use is an 8"diameter if it is fluted you would want to go to a 10" Diameter column to allow for the recess created by the flutes

The main column sections are sold in 8 feet and 4 feet long lengths. The cap and base profile you chose do not need to be the same, I do point out square cornered profiles like #1622 and #1627 are fine for the tops, but will be more subject to damage to the corners if used as base assemblies.

When several columns are needed it is always best to measure the overall height needed at each column location as there will usually be a slight differance in the size needed.
Make a rough drawing of the layout and number the locations with it's height, it is a simple way to know which column goes where if we are cutting to size and assembling for you. Often the final cut to size and assembly is done by the installer.
